Adeola Adeleye-Fasubaa Honored with Diaspora of the Year Award

Dr. Adeola Adeleye-Fasubaa, Director General, Ekiti State Diaspora Relation, has been awarded the prestigious State Government Diaspora of the Year Award out of 36 States including Abuja, at the 2024 Nigerians in Diaspora Awards organized by Friends of Nigeria in France, the ceremony celebrated individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to the Nigerian diaspora community globally.

The award recognizes her outstanding contributions and dedication to promoting Nigerian values and fostering positive change within the diaspora community.

The event took place at the prestigious Renaissance La Defense Hotel, Paris, celebrated exemplary Nigerians who have made significant impacts in their fields and communities abroad.

Dr. Fasubaa’s recognition highlights her exceptional leadership and dedication to fostering strong connections between the Ekiti State government and its diaspora population. Her efforts have been instrumental in driving initiatives that promote investment, cultural exchange, and developmental partnerships.

Speaking on her achievement, Dr. Fasubaa expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State government under the leadership of Governor  Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Nigerian community in France for their unwavering support.

“This award is a testament to our collective effort in building bridges between our homeland and the diaspora,” she said.

“This recognition is not just for me but for every Nigerian striving to make a difference wherever they find themselves. It inspires me to continue working towards a better future for our communities both in Nigeria and the diaspora.”

The Nigerians in Diaspora Awards (NIDA) Gala is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of Nigerians living abroad across various fields. This platform seeks to raise awareness and promote a positive narrative regarding the contributions of the Nigerian diaspora,

Ultimately inspiring future generations to pursue excellence. The NIDA Gala specifically honors individuals committed to revitalizing their spheres of influence, communities and making a significant global impact across a wide array of categories.

The inaugural NIDA ceremony took place on October 2, 2023, at the esteemed L’Hôtel de l’Industrie in central Paris. The event was attended by notable guests, including the Ambassador of the Permanent Delegation of Nigeria to UNESCO, officials from the Embassy of Nigeria in Paris, the CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), representatives from the Lagos State Government, and over 150 distinguished Nigerians from various sectors, particularly those based in European countries

Adeleye-Fasubaa’s win underscores her role as a trailblazer and an inspiration for others to emulate.

This recognition cements her legacy as a true ambassador of Nigeria, highlighting the transformative potential of the Nigerian diaspora.
