The DAPT Boss, drawing from the private sector’s perspective, called for a deliberate paradigm shift where citizens are treated as valued customers.
He emphasized that the government should learn from the private sector philosophy, where customers are regarded as the kings and the essence of service provision.
“Similarly, a responsive and responsible data management system in the public sector should view citizens as kings. The government should serve and be accountable to those kings.
“Citizens’ role in this transformation is crucial to the success of DevsInGov programme.
“Government-wide data governance, risk, and compliance frameworks and management systems should be built into the public sector data management process through innovation, embedding applicable data privacy principles, data integration architecture, and data security to serve citizens and provide effective public services”, he added.
