Wike Commissions Trade and Convention Centre, Lauds ACCI’s Role in Economic Development

 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Ezenwo Nyezom Wike, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, joined Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), to commission the Prince Kayode Adetokunbo, SAN Trade and Convention Centre and Tony Ejinkoye Hall.

The event, held in honour of the past leaders’ contributions to ACCI and the broader Chamber movement in Nigeria, marked a significant milestone in the promotion of commerce in the FCT.During the ceremony, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, led both national and international delegates on a tour of the exhibition stands as part of the opening of the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).

He praised exhibitors for their participation, highlighting their entrepreneurial spirit and role in driving economic growth. As the leader of ACCI and a key figure in the Organized Private Sector (OPS) in the FCT, Obegolu reaffirmed his dedication to advocating for policies that create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.The opening ceremony also witnessed the investiture of the ACCI National Policy Fellows (NPF).

Chief Obegolu conferred fellowships upon distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economic development across various sectors, including academia, manufacturing, national security, and small and medium enterprises (SME) development.In his remarks, Hon. Chidi Amadi commended ACCI’s ongoing support for the OPS and its contribution to the economic advancement of the FCT.

He lauded the Chamber’s role in fostering partnerships and promoting investment in the region. Chief Obegolu assured attendees that the 19th AITF would offer significant value to participants, exhibitors, and visitors, underscoring ACCI’s commitment to building a vibrant business community in the nation’s capital.

The 19th Abuja International Trade Fair is expected to attract significant attention from local and international businesses, providing a platform for networking, showcasing products, and fostering business growth.
